Rona J. Karasik, PhD, FAGHE, FGSA, is a professor and director of the Gerontology Program at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN and the current editor-in-chief (2022-2025) of Gerontology & Geriatrics Education, the official journal of the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education.
Dr. Karasik holds fellow status in both the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) and the Gerontological Society of America (GSA). A life member of Sigma Phi Omega – International Academic Honors and Professional Society in Gerontology (SPO),   Dr. Karasik is a past president of SPO (2010-2012) and has also served on the SPO board as Treasurer (2005-2009) and Member at Large (2002-2005).
With over thirty years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Karasik is the author of numerous publications and presentations on gerontology internships, service-learning, classroom- and community-based activities, and incorporating anti-racist pedagogy into the gerontological curriculum. Her most recent book is the 2023 co-authored publication The Gerontology Field Placement: Internships and Practicum in Aging (Springer).
