Nomination for SPO Officers (2026)

Help shape Sigma Phi Omega’s direction. We’re inviting nominations to the national leadership team. Deadline: February 28, 2026. Self-nominations welcome.

Open Roles & Terms

  • Treasurer-Elect — 1 year as Treasurer-Elect, 2 years as Treasurer, 1 year as Immediate Past-Treasurer.
  • Member-at-Large — 3-year term.
  • Secretary — 2-year term.
  • Student Representative — 1-year term.

How to Nominate

Use the official nomination form and include: 250–400 word statement, 1–2 page CV, brief chapter/role history with service highlights, one advisor/officer contact, and consent to serve. Members may hold only one elected or appointed position at a time. Submissions are reviewed by the Nominating Committee; nomination does not guarantee placement on the final slate.

Nomination Submission Requirement

  • The Nominating Committee will consider only nominations submitted using the form at the bottom of this page. Click Here.
  • Members may serve only in one elected or appointed position at any given time.
  • SPO has partnered with the Southern Gerontological Society for its annual Board and Business meetings.  Board members should be able to attend these annual meetings.

What We Look For

A track record of chapter service, follow-through, and alignment with SPO’s values: scholarship, professionalism, friendship, and service.

Board Responsibilities

Set policy, steward finances and awards, and support advisors and officers so chapters thrive.

Time & Collaboration

Monthly virtual meetings plus committee work; one planned in-person meeting each year.

Onboarding & Support

Role orientation, toolkits from the national office, and mentorship from experienced leaders.
